Oracle Bones Rubbings
Overview
This database contains over 40,000 oracle bone rubbings held by IHP, which can be categorized into two types based on their sources: rubbings from archaeological excavations of oracle bones and rubbings obtained through later acquisitions. The current bibliography of oracle bone script rubbings includes works such as "Iron Cloud Collection of Four Hundred Turtle Shells," "Xiaotun, Second Volume, Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Part A, Illustrations," "Xiaotun, Second Volume, Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Part B, Illustrations," "Xiaotun, Second Volume, Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Part B, Supplementary," and "Xiaotun, Second Volume, Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Part C," among others.
This database also integrates with IHP's archaeological database, allowing users to cross-reference oracle bone script rubbings with oracle bone artifacts and images, which is linked through the collection number. It currently provides access to 21,556 digitized records for searching.
